Seam classes

• Seamless: the pattern is continuous everywhere, whatever the image.
• Seamless sideways: continuous across vertical lines; edges can show between rows.
• Shows seams: edges can show unless the motif’s own edges already match. Use “Make it seamless” in the export panel to switch to the nearest seamless repeat.

Tile or surface?

A tile is one repeat unit. Shops and design tools repeat it for you, so it must be exactly seamless; Crafty makes sure its opposite edges match to the pixel. A surface is a finished rectangle of pattern, such as a phone wallpaper or a printed sheet. Effects such as Vignette only apply to surfaces, because they don’t repeat.

Native size

The native tile size uses your image’s pixels one to one. Exporting larger enlarges the motif, and the export panel tells you when that may look soft.

Presets

Presets set the size, DPI and format for common uses, such as 12 × 12 in digital paper at 300 DPI. Check your shop’s current requirements before you upload.

Your data

Your images and projects are stored in your browser and never uploaded. Export a project file (.crafty) to back up a project or move it to another device.
